ANNEXURE - I
FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES OF FOREST AND WILDLIFE DEPARTMENT
Creation, conservation and scientific management of forests and wildlife.
DUTIES OF THE FOREST DEPARTMENT
1 To awaken interest of the people in development, extension and establishment of tree lands.
2 To draw plans for above mentioned purpose.
3 To establish nurseries and seed stores in each area for the supply of saplings, plants and seeds.
4 To supervise the planting of trees and render such technical assistance as may be necessary for development of tree lands.
5 To arouse tree consciousness among the people through publicity.
6 To increase the income of farmers through cultivation of medicinal plants.
7 To give competitive purchase rates to the tree growers.
8 To protect and conserve wildlife & its habitat.
9 To protect & conserve forests.

POWERS AND DUTIES OF FOREST OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEEES

Range Officer
Check and control all works in his range and to ensure that Government funds are used in most ecomical and efficient way.
8 Deputy Range Officer /Forester Fields job and supervision as Block Forest Officer.
9 Forest Guard Protection of Forests and Wildlife wealth and execution of field work as lowest level functionary of the front line-staff.
10 Officer Superintendent Overall supervision of the office.
11 Accountant Maintain the accounts of the department

Office work in the PCCF Office regarding planning and estimation of construction works

Circle Head Draftman
Office work in the PCCF Office regarding planning and estimation of construction works
15 Draftsman Office work in the Division office regarding planning and estimation of construction works
16 Statistical Officer  Compliation of data in Head Office.
17 Driver Driving of Departmental Vehicle
18 Peon To attend the officer and distribution of dak etc.
19 Mali Maintenance of lawns, Inspection huts, Rest houses and nurseries.
